When should I arrive? 

A: Registration opens at 08:30. Allow enough time to get to the venue and secure parking as the area may be very congested.

Can I attend every session?

A: Onsite at the Summit sessions will be filled on a first-come first-seated basis, we cannot guarantee space in every session.

A: Whether you are new to the cloud or an experienced user, you will learn something new at the AWS Summit. These events, held around the world, are designed to educate new customers about the AWS platform and offer existing customers deep technical content to be more successful with AWS.

The AWS Summit Cape Town features a keynote presentation highlighting the latest announcements, live demos and customer testimonials. Followed by breakout sessions led by AWS engineers that deep dive into best practices for Securing the Cloud, Migrating to the Cloud, Building on the Cloud and Innovating in the Cloud covering topics like Databases, Analytics, Modern Applications, AI/ML, Security, Networking, IoT. There will also be a business and getting started sessions as well. Throughout the day, you will have opportunities to meet AWS staff and partners to get your technical questions answered.

Q: What is the conference agenda?

The summit agenda is focused on providing an overview of AWS services and features as well as best practices, details of service features and demos with the assumption that attendees are new or have introductory knowledge of the topics. We will also dive deeper into selected topics around Security, Databases, Analytics, Modern Applications, AI/ML, Networking, IoT that you can choose from.

Q: Do you accept submissions for speakers/session ideas?

A: At this time, we do not accept submissions for AWS Summit speakers or session content although we always appreciate customer feedback.

Q: Where is my confirmation email?

A: If you have registered, you should receive a confirmation email shortly after registering. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam folder. Once you have checked your spam folder, if you still haven't received your confirmation email, please contact us. 

Q: What is included in Summit registration?

A: Summit registration gives you access to the keynote, all breakout sessions and the Partner Solutions Expo. Meals offered include lunch and snacks, drinks plus the networking cocktail drinks at the closing of the event.

Q: What is the price of registration?

Q: How do I update my registration information?

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: You may cancel your Summit registration by contacting us. Note, we will go ahead and cancel your ticket, but we will not confirm your cancellation by email.

Q: Will I need to register myself for each breakout session?

A: Onsite at the AWS Summit, breakout sessions will be filled on a first-come, first-seated basis. As seats are not guaranteed, there is no need to pre-register. However, we recommend taking advantage of the scheduling tools on AWS Summit mobile app to help you organize your day. The mobile app will be available soon.

Q: What parking options are available?

A: The venue has parking available on a first come first serve basis.

Q: What accessibility accommodations are available?

A: The AWS Summit Cape Town venue, Cape Town International Convention Centre, has been designed to make everyone’s visit as productive and comfortable as possible.

Q: What special dietary requirements are accommodated?

A: Vegetarian, Halal Friendly and Kosher options are available and labelled at lunch.  

Q: What information will be shared with sponsors? 

A: If you offer to have your badge scanned by a sponsor or at a sponsor-branded session, you are requesting AWS share your name, email address, country, title, and company with that sponsor so it may contact you by email for marketing purposes.
