In this talk, we’ll share how Databricks and Datasentics assisted our customer to migrate to the AWS cloud to create an agile environment for analytics and AI. From rapid prototyping machine learning use cases to moving models into production, core to this approach was building a unified platform for data and analytics on Apache Spark, Databricks and AWS.

Migrating monolithic applications with the strangler pattern
Abstract: “Lifting and shifting” an enterprise-scale application will yield some of the benefits of the cloud, but elasticity and agility may still be limited. Conversely, re-writing that application to be cloud-native can be costly in terms of both time and money and could cause you to miss a market opportunity. This session explores the challenges financial institutions face when migrating their existing portfolio of applications to the cloud. Then, we will share practical tips to migrate applications to realise cloud-native architectural benefits incrementally using the strangler pattern.
