Purpose-Built for Media
Whether spinning up native AWS media products like AWS Elemental or AWS Thinkbox directly from your console, leveraging AWS’s rich partner ecosystem, or building from scratch using AWS primitive services, the AWS platform is flexible enough to support just about any deployment models for building media workflows.
AWS Purpose-Built Media Solutions
AWS has fully managed solutions on pay-per-use basis for every step of the media value chain. These native media services are fully integrated into the console scaling to your business needs. Spin up and combine multiple AWS services directly from the AWS console including services for content production, processing, distribution, Machine Learning, and Analytics.
AWS Elemental Media Services
AWS Media Services are a family of fully-managed services that make it easy to build reliable, broadcast-quality video workflows in the Cloud. Whether you are an enterprise, or a start-up, AWS Media Services allow you to easily create professional quality media experiences for your viewers without the time, effort and expense that used to typically be required to run specialized video equipment in a traditional data center. These on-demand, elastic services help you innovate faster and respond quickly to changes in video technology.
AWS Thinkbox Deadline
Deadline is a hassle-free administration and compute management toolkit for Windows, Linux, and Mac OSX based render farms, and supports over 80 different content creation applications out of the box. It offers a world of flexibility and a wide-range of management options for render farms and compute clusters of all sizes, and allows users the freedom to easily access any combination of on-premises or cloud-based resources for their rendering and processing needs. Deadline’s unique architecture removes the need for a centralized manager application by using a highly-scalable database and basic file sharing to manage the farm.
Amazon Machine Learning
At Amazon, we’ve been investing deeply in artificial intelligence for over 20 years. Machine learning (ML) algorithms drive many of our internal systems. It's also core to the capabilities our customers experience – from the path optimization in our fulfillment centers, and Amazon.com’s recommendations engine, to Echo powered by Alexa, our drone initiative Prime Air, and our new retail experience Amazon Go. Our mission is to share our learnings and ML capabilities as fully managed services, and put them into the hands of every developer and data scientist. We have several API services to enhance media workflows such as Amazon Rekognition, Amazon Transcribe, and more.
Amazon CloudFront is a global content delivery network (CDN) service that securely delivers data, videos, applications, and APIs to your viewers with low latency and high transfer speeds. CloudFront is integrated with AWS – both physical locations that are directly connected to the AWS global infrastructure, as well as software that works seamlessly with services including AWS Shield for DDoS mitigation, Amazon S3, Elastic Load Balancing or Amazon EC2 as origins for your applications, and AWS Lambda to run custom code close to your viewers.
Partner Ecosystem for Media
Leverage AWS’s rich ecosystem of leading hardware, software and service partners providing a range of cloud-enabled media workflow solutions. AWS Media Competency Partners have demonstrated success in building solutions to create, manage, and distribute media projects and workflows.
