How AWS Partners with Formula 1 to Accelerate the Racing Giant’s Cloud Transformation

With an estimated annual audience of at least 500 million, Formula 1 ranks as one of the most popular sports in the world. It’s quite lucrative as well; 2017 revenues hit ~$1.8 billion.

The cars used during the races are incredibly advanced, many housing up to 120 sensors creating three gigabytes of data within a single race. To better leverage all of this data, Formula 1 has partnered with AWS to move the vast majority of its infrastructure to the cloud from on-premise solutions. Check out the above interview with Adrian Cockroft, VP of Cloud Architecture Strategy at AWS, to learn more about how the two companies work together to continue leading in their respective industries.
