Blender — Amazon Ads in an RSS Feed

The clever guys over at ThinkTank23 have rolled out the newest release of their Blender product, available at http://blender.waypath.com. Blender analyses a “raw” RSS feed and returns a new feed with Amazon content inside. The Amazon Associates program is used to allow the feed owner to earn revenue from this content.  Blender implements an  80/20 revenue sharing model — the  feed owner sees 80% of the Associate traffic and Blender sees the rest.

Why are they doing this? As they say in their blog, “We’re building Blender to empower you, as an RSS publisher, to earn revenue from your RSS feeds.”

New Blender features include improved precision in matching books to posts, faster response in serving up blended feeds,  and a larger selection of Amazon.com products, as described here.
