A new age of innovation is sweeping across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Find out how governments, education, healthcare, and nonprofits are building on AWS.

The second AWS Middle East Region is now open

Amazon Web Services (AWS) expanded its global footprint with the opening of the second AWS Region in the Middle East. The AWS Middle East (UAE) Region is now open and joined the AWS Middle East (Bahrain) Region to help provide developers, start-ups, and enterprises as well as government, education, and non-profit organizations with more choice and flexibility to leverage advanced technologies from the world’s leading cloud provider.

As organizations increasingly embrace cloud-based solutions, long-lasting effects can be realized in the form of community-wide collaboration, partnerships with local businesses, and ultimately a more productive environment where people can thrive.

“By migrating our national portal, mobile apps, and workloads to the AWS Cloud, we were able to reduce infrastructure cost by 70% and procurement cycle time by 60%.”

“As an institution that has smart learning as its core offering, we didn’t want to worry about servers and maintaining hardware, which was eating up our time and resources. Instead, we wanted to put our focus on what matters most—education.”

”With AWS, we were able to scale up the moci.shop portal very quickly as traffic increased with no impact on the performance of the portal.”

Institute of Public Administration

“Our Learning Management System’s (LMS) migration to the AWS Cloud has resulted in a 90% cost savings. Not only that, but this has also reduced procurement time with the LMS being up and running in less than a day on AWS, as opposed to 3-4 months for our previous on-premises system.”

“We are proud of the fact that the team could launch our national VAT system on AWS within two months. It could have taken a longer time on premises compared to other benchmarks.”

“Through AWS, we are able to focus on education and on building a range of products for our users. AWS is also able to continuously innovate new services that allow us to remain focused on solving core problems in education.”

“The migration allows us to run our servers anywhere in the world, significantly reducing the need to maintain and upgrade hardware.”

“With the migration to AWS, we were able to significantly reduce the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), freeing up resources to focus on the ministry’s core mission and not in managing servers and buildings.”
