Amazon Supply Chain and Logistics

Innovative Supply Chain Management with AWS at Hannover Messe 2024

Hannover Messe, the world’s leading industrial technology trade show, returns to Hannover, Germany, from April 22-26, 2024. This premier event focuses on innovative solutions that address global industrial challenges, making it a must-attend for organizations seeking to optimize their operations and stay ahead of the curve. Amazon Web Services (AWS) will be there, showcasing our latest industrial solutions including generative AI on the shop floor. Catch a sneak peek here. We will showcase solutions that empower businesses to transform their operations, enhance sustainability, and drive innovation.

We invite you to visit us at hall 15, booth D76, to explore how AWS can support your journey toward operational excellence.

Addressing Supply Chain Complexities with AWS Supply Chain

Manufacturing, automotive, transportation, energy, and mining organizations often grapple with significant supply chain challenges. Managing multiple tiers of partners and suppliers can lead to data silos, demand variations, supply disruptions, and uncertainties in vendor lead times. These factors make it difficult to determine optimal inventory levels, understand extended supply chain dynamics, and maintain accurate inventory visibility.

AWS Supply Chain leverages the breadth of AWS services and Amazon’s nearly 30 years of experience to empower companies to effectively manage and optimize their multi-tier supply chains. By unifying fragmented supply chain data into a scalable, high-quality asset, AWS Supply Chain improves existing functions and enables emerging new capabilities.

  1. Seamless integration of disparate data: AWS Supply Chain integrates data from multiple sources, including ERP systems. This unified approach enhances inventory visibility, provides full transparency across all locations, ensures consistent data across channels, and supports effective decision-making through machine learning-powered insights. You can do this without re-platforming, upfront licensing fees, or long-term commitments.
  2. Demand Planning harnesses advanced machine learning (ML) models to deliver precise demand forecasting across various channels. This capability ensures optimal inventory levels, reducing the risk of overstocking or stockouts, and enabling a swift response to demand fluctuations and supply disruptions.
  3. Supply Planning ensures optimal inventory levels, reducing the risk of overstocking or stockouts and enabling a swift response to demand fluctuations and supply disruptions. This also helps customers maintain the right inventory at right location at the right time.
  4. N-Tier Visibility simplifies communication with multiple tiers of suppliers, improving accuracy in inventory planning and execution. It facilitates collaboration and data sharing, crucial for managing the diverse demands of multi-channel distribution.
  5. Sustainability provides a centralized repository for sustainability information, enabling organizations to manage and audit environmental data efficiently, meet regulatory requirements, and align with consumer expectations for environmental responsibility across all distribution channels.

Applying the Power of Generative AI in Supply Chain Management

AWS will also showcase how generative AI is transforming supply chain operations. The recently released generative AI-powered data onboarding agent for AWS Supply Chain, powered by Amazon Bedrock, increases the speed and ease of onboarding data by eliminating manual data integration. Customers can now simply extract and drop their raw data into Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) or upload it directly from the AWS Supply Chain user interface (UI). AWS Supply Chain automatically transforms data from its native format into the AWS Supply Chain Data Lake (SCDL) canonical data model format, streamlining the data ingestion process and ensuring data readiness for supply chain applications. This demo covers the entire process and shares additional details.

Additionally, you can come learn about our upcoming Amazon Q in AWS Supply Chain capability, which introduces a generative AI assistant that provides intelligent, conversational responses to complex supply chain queries. This capability aids in visualizing trade-offs, assessing risks specific to different channels, and enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Experience the Future of Supply Chain Management at Our Booth

You will also be able experience a comprehensive demo showcasing how a fictitious e-bike manufacturing company leverages AWS Supply Chain to streamline operations and address challenges like stockouts or supply chain disruptions. The demo illustrates how AWS Supply Chain enables manufacturers to address common challenges in multi-tier supply chains, such as data silos, demand variations, and supplier lead time uncertainties. We are a part of the AWS purpose-built showcase for industrial customers that includes solutions like AWS IoT SiteWise, AWS IoT TwinMaker, Amazon Monitron, Amazon Lookout for Equipment, Amazon Lookout for Vision, Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Q, and partner solutions.
