Amazon Partner Network – New Training and Competencies

The Amazon Partner Network (APN) focuses on helping our partners to build successful AWS-powered businesses by providing them with strong technical, sales, marketing, and go-to-market support.

Today we are taking a step forward with the introduction of new training, accreditation, and competencies for APN members. Let’s take a look at each one.

Training and Accreditation
As a partner, you want to learn all that you can about AWS, and you want to show potential customers that you have the business and technical skills needed to address their needs.

Our new online partner training and accreditation is designed to address this need, with distinct tracks for AWS Business Professionals and AWS Technical Professionals.

The AWS Business Professional training program consists of four self-paced modules: Amazon and Cloud Computing, AWS Products and Services, AWS Solutions, and AWS Pricing. You should plan to spend 4.5 to 6 hours on this training.

The AWS Technical Professional training program consists of five self-paced modules: Introduction to the AWS Platform, AWS Products and Services, Batch Processing, Scalable Web Applications, and Disaster Recovery. You should be able to complete this program in about 3.5 hours.

After you complete a training program, you will need to pass the appropriate assessment in order to earn your accreditation.

Competencies
APN Competencies give you the ability to differentiate your offering by showing your expertise in building solutions of a particular type.

As a partner, you can currently apply for one or both of the following APN Competencies:

  • Big Data – If you help your customers to evaluate and use the tools, techniques, and technologies needed to work productively with data, at any scale.
  • Managed Service Provider – if you fully manage your customers’ AWS-based infrastructure, databases, and applications.

To qualify for a competency, you must be a Standard or Advanced APN Consulting Partner with at least 3 customer references within the competency, a public endorsement, and at least $5,000 in direct or indirect AWS revenue.

Contact the APN team if you have questions about Training and APN Competencies.
