AWS Week in Review – June 18, 2012

Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, June 18	We updated the AWS SlideShare channel. All of the existing presentations have been tagged and categorized. Popular tags include Getting Started With AWS, AWS Customer Presentations, AWS Partner Presentations, AWS Solution Architecture & Best Practices, and AWS Event Presentations.
Tuesday, June 19	We announced a new CloudFront / Route 53 edge location in Sydney, Australia. We announced that AWS CloudFormation now supports DynamoDB and CloudFront’s Dynamic Content.
Wednesday, June 20	Nothing happened.
Thursday, June 21	We published a pair of videos to help you get started with the Simple Workflow Service. Amazon’s Werner Vogels wrote about the growth of DynamoDB, the fastest-growing service in the history of AWS.
Friday, June 22	You can now launch EC2 CC2.8XL instances in the EU West (Ireland). The AWS Marketplace catalog continued to grow this week with a variety of new additions. A couple you might be interested in are the Stingray Traffic Manager from Riverbed software and a few new versions of Acunu Reflex, now with Standard, Premium, and Enterprise level support. Also notable is the addition of hosted Alfresco, provided by Alfresco.
