AWS Week in Review – July 21, 2014

Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, July 21	The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog talked about Supporting Windows Phone 8.1. The AWS DevOps Blog showed you how to View CloudFormation Logs in the Console. Our AWS Partners in India released Twenty Five New AWS Test Drives.
Tuesday, July 22	We announced the new Big Data Blog and Web-Based Big Data Training. We published Episode #94 of the AWS Podcast, featuring part 2 of my interview with David Etue of SafeNet. The AWS Startup Collection published an Interview With Aaron Newman, founder of CloudCheckr and a guest post that recommends that you Use Auto Scaling for Everything Possible. The AWS Ruby Development Blog talked about Version 2 Resource Interfaces for the upcoming update to the AWS SDK for Ruby.
Wednesday, July 23	The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog talked about Importing VM Images and Volumes with PowerShell and C#.
Thursday, July 24	We enabled Connection Timeout Management for Elastic Load Balancing. We announced that AWS CloudTrail Now Logs AWS Management Console Sign-In Events. We announced that you can now Copy Launch Configs for Auto Scaling in the AWS Management Console. The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog talked about Introducing S3Link to DynamoDBContext. A post on the AWS Mobile Development Blog talked about Using the Amazon Cognito Credentials Provider.
Friday, July 25	A post on the Cloudability Blog discussed The Math Behind AWS Reserved Instance Modifications. AWS Marketplace added new products including Distributed Random Forest Powered by Velocity Software and Aerospike 3 Database for HVM. We added new AWS Customer Success Stories from Boxever, HTC, NextGxDx, St. Luke’s Anglican School, and Ungerboeck Software. Elliott Slaughter published a description of the AWS Infrastructure for Stanford Course in Parallel Programming.
