AWS Week in Review – March 25, 2013

Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week:

Monday, March 25	The EC2 IP address ranges were updated (this happened earlier in the month but I missed it). There are now 3.7 million IP addresses listed.
Tuesday, March 26	We announced AWS CloudHSM for Secure Key Storage and Cryptographic Operations. I announced that I will be embarking on an AWS Road Trip in May, crossing the US to speak at 12 or more user groups. We announced new AMIs for Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 and Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2. The new AMis include a new para-virtual (PV) driver. The new driver runs on all EC2 instance types, allows for more EBS volumes per instance, and offers better performance.
Wednesday, March 27	We announced the availability of Amazon Linux AMI 2013.03.
Thursday, March 28	A new article on the AWS Mobile Blog talks about the TransferManager for Android.
Friday, March 29	We released four new AWS case studies and videos: BazaarVoice, Outsmart 2005, Animoto, and Infostrada Sports Group. This week AWS Marketplace added a number of new products including NuoDB, WeVideo, CloudPrime, AgileLoad and advertzoom.
