AWS Week in Review – September 6, 2014 Let’s take a quick look at what happened in AWS-land last week: Monday, September 8 We announced that you can now Use AWS OpsWorks & Ruby to Build and Scale Simple Workflow Applications. The new Hello OpsWorks Tutorial will help you to get started. Tuesday, September 9 We announced that you can now Kick-Start Your Cloud Storage Project With the Riverbed SteelStore Gateway. Wednesday, September 10 The AWS Startup Collection published Part 2 of an article on User-State Data Synchronization for Mobile Apps With Amazon Cognito. Thursday, September 11 We announced that Amazon ElastiCache now Supports the T2 Node Type. We announced that you can now Search and Interact With Your Streaming Data Using the Kinesis Connector to Elasticsearch. We announced that we are Now Hiring Product Marketing Managers for the AWS Team. We introduced Tagging Support for Kinesis Streams. The AWS SDK for PHP was updated to version 2.6.16, with support for Kinesis Stream Tagging, and OpsWorks Environment Variables, along with a couple of bug fixes. Similar enhancements were made to some of the other AWS SDKs including the AWS SDK for Java, the AWS SDK for JavaScript in the Browser, and the AWS SDK for Ruby. Friday, September 12 We added new AWS Customer Succcess Stories from Echo360, Kellogg’s, Sling Media, and ZyXEL. The AWS Big Data Blog showed you how to Use Amazon Redshift to Analyze Your Elastic Load Balancer Traffic Logs. The AWS Windows and .NET Developer Blog reviewed some recent Performance Improvements to AWS SDK for .NET. The AWS Startup Collection interviewed Carlog Guestrin (CEO of GraphLab) to learn about Scaling Big Data Analytics from Inspiration to Production. Last week AWS Marketplace added new products including Postgres Plus Cloud Database Advanced from EnterpriseDB Corporation, ExpeDat Gateway for Amazon S3 from Data Expedition Inc, and Cisco Cloud Services Router Premium Technology Package.
