Know before you go: AWS re:Invent 2024 for AWS Marketplace

Introduction

AWS re:Invent is the annual global conference for AWS customers and Partners hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS). If you are attending, you will have the opportunity learn about the latest AWS Marketplace innovations, connect with AWS Marketplace subject matter experts (SMEs), and access valuable resources to help grow and scale your business. To help you get the most out of your time at re:Invent, we have created a guide to help you navigate the event.

Plan your agenda

The re:Invent agenda is packed with a variety of session formats, including breakout sessions, hands-on technical sessions, interactive chalk talks, twenty-minute lightning talks, and more. We recommend reviewing the AWS Marketplace session catalog ahead of time and building an agenda that aligns with your needs and interests.

Pro tips

  • Quickly find buyer-focused sessions by searching for “mkt” and Partner-focused AWS Marketplace sessions by searching for “pex”.
  • Pick sessions that match your expertise by filtering by level. Gain foundational knowledge with Level 100 sessions. The higher the level, the more technical and advanced the session is.
  • Favorite or reserve a seat in sessions of interest on the website or app to build out your schedule.

Attend the AWS Partner Keynote

Keynotes at re:Invent set the tone for the entire week. We encourage you to attend the AWS Partner Keynote on December 4 at 3 PM, where AWS leadership will showcase new innovations for the first time. You will also hear directly from customers and Partners about how they are reimagining business models and driving successful outcomes using AWS industry-changing services.

Meet subject matter experts

In addition to attending sessions, we encourage you to connect directly with our AWS Marketplace SMEs at the AWS Marketplace pavilion throughout the week. If you are a customer, we can help you get started in AWS Marketplace and we can offer guidance on how to use new features to streamline procurement, optimize costs, and enhance governance. If you are a seller, learn how you can get started by listing a product or setting up resale authorizations. Already a seller? Dive deep into new features that can help you unlock new revenue streams and scale your business efficiently.

The AWS Marketplace pavilion will be located in the front left area of the Expo hall at Booth 326 (Figure 1), so be sure to stop by to meet this year’s sponsoring AWS Marketplace sellers and connect with our team.

Make the most of networking

re:Invent attracts thousands of cloud professionals from around the world, making it an unparalleled networking opportunity. Get your LinkedIn ready because you will have the chance to connect with AWS Marketplace customers, independent software vendor (ISV) Partners, and the AWS Marketplace team. Don’t miss the AWS Marketplace Happy Hour at Delmonico Steakhouse in The Venetian on Tuesday, December 3 from 6–8 PM PST. It’s right outside the Expo to save you a few steps.

Pro tips

  • Arrive early to the AWS Marketplace Happy Hour so you don’t have to wait in line.
  • Use the LinkedIn QR code to quickly connect with people.

Stay energized and have fun

With long days and jam-packed agendas, it is important to take care of yourself during re:Invent. Hydrate, take breaks throughout the day to recharge, and don’t forget to enjoy yourself. Although re:Invent is a business conference, it’s also a chance to connect with the broader AWS community and have some fun. Be sure to attend re:Play on Thursday evening to enjoy live music, classic games, and great food.

Pro tips

  • Pack essentials such as portable chargers, hand sanitizer, and lip balm, and wear comfortable shoes.
  • Shuttles run from various hotels to re:Invent campus venues such as Caesars Forum, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, and The Venetian. Campus shuttles are available from 9:30 AM–8:30 PM.
  • re:Play shuttles start at 7:30 PM and will pick up and drop off at all re:Invent hotels.

Conclusion

AWS re:Invent is an invaluable opportunity for AWS Marketplace customers and sellers to learn, network, and grow their businesses. By planning ahead, navigating the venues effectively, and taking advantage of the personalized support and networking opportunities, you’ll be set up for a successful re:Invent experience.
