Know Before You Go: Retail Attendee Guide for re:Invent 2021

The entire AWS Retail team is super excited to announce that AWS re:Invent 2021 has an in-person option this year. We can’t wait to see you in Las Vegas (or virtually) for our exciting program planned for retailers, with sessions featuring Neiman Marcus, Waitrose, Adidas, and Tapestry. This year’s event will also include over 20 leadership sessions, and 1,200+ breakout and interactive sessions from November 29 through December 3. Moreover, stop by our Consumer Lounge at the Caesars Forum to network and learn from AWS experts and your peers.

To get the most out of your re:Invent 2021 experience, follow these steps:

  • Register for re:Invent 2021 to attend in person or virtually.
  • Investigate all of the available retail sessions, plus other information and activities, in our curated Retail Attendee Guide.
  • Start planning your schedule now by “favoriting” sessions that you are interested in. Seat reservations open on October 19 at 10am (PST) for registered attendees. So let’s get registered!
  • Bookmark and check back on this post in the days leading up to re:Invent 2021, since we’ll continually update it to reflect the latest information.

Retail at re:Invent 2021

Regardless of how you attend, re:Invent 2021 will be packed with retail industry-relevant educational sessions to help you innovate and accelerate digital transformation. Our retail experts and partners are offering numerous sessions, featuring the latest AWS technologies, as well as tips, tricks, and best practices. Retail Breakout Sessions Available In Person and On Demand

RET201 — Reengineering infrastructure and data architecture at Tapestry
This session covers it all—digital transformation, data analytics, and machine learning—to drive better business decisions and outcomes, improve forecasts and product allocations, and enhance customer experiences. ARC201 – Reliable scalability: How Amazon.com scales in the cloud
Part history lesson, part inspiration—this session covers the evolution of Amazon.com from a technology perspective. It’s a can’t-miss session if you’ve ever wondered how the company achieved success so quickly.

DAT303 – Amazon DynamoDB: Driving innovation at any scale—Featuring Mercado Libre
Join Mercado Libre, a Latin America-based ecommerce company with 75 million active customers, as they explain how they migrated over 5,000 Apache Cassandra databases to Amazon DynamoDB without changing a single line of code. They will also share how they scaled-up their applications to support the massive customer surge from the COVID-19 pandemic.

INO202 – How Amazon.com transforms customer experience through AI/ML
Understand Amazon.com’s approach to launching and scaling ML-enabled innovations in its core business operations and toward new customer opportunities. This session is for everyone feeling the challenge of scaling ML capabilities.

ENT206 – Marc O’Polo’s journey to direct-to-consumer operations and SAP S/4HANA
In this session, explore Marc O’Polo’s S/4HANA migration, as they work to reach their goal of becoming the most innovative fashion retailer in Germany and shift to a direct-to-consumer model.
