In 2003, the Singapore campus opened with around 300 students, two support staff, and basic IT infrastructure. Fast forward to 2018, and the university now serves more than 3,000 students. With the growth of the university, they realized that what worked for them in the past would not take them where they needed to be in the future. To remain competitive and keep up with the needs of students, faculty, and staff, JCU looked to transform the university’s IT to leverage emerging educational technology. They turned to the AWS Cloud for accessibility, agility, global reach, reliability, and cost savings as they personalized their own digital transformation.

The Masters of Business Analytics course is ranked #5 in the world, and provides students with skills and knowledge to become data scientists who can transform the way decisions are made in business. The Korean Ophthalmological Society migrated its legacy Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) server to Amazon AppStream 2.0 to stream ophthalmologic imaging studies, such as retinal photographs, optical coherence tomography images, visual field tests, and optical biometry, to 80 university eye doctors nationwide.

There are many arguments for building a serverless architecture. Chief among them, users only pay for the computing power they use. Organizations can begin by identifying and eliminating the bottlenecks in their workflow. For example, CSIRO Bioinformatics in Sydney, Australia, used AWS X-Ray to systematically evaluate their serverless architecture and, by doing so, improved their runtime by 80%.

AWS announced that Amazon Internet Services Private Limited (AISPL), an Indian subsidiary of the Amazon Group, which undertakes the resale and marketing of AWS Cloud services in India, has achieved full Cloud Service Provider (CSP) empanelment, and successfully completed the STQC (Standardization Testing and Quality Certification) audit from the Indian Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for cloud services delivered from the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) Region.
