Symphony Teams with AWS To Bring Critical Industries Securely into the Cloud

Guest post by Fred Stemmelin, SVP of Business Development, Symphony

Some companies, particularly those in regulated industries, have been gun-shy when it comes to fully leveraging cloud-based software for critical business operations. Complex security needs and compliance requirements have limited the ability to adopt cloud solutions—despite the clear business need and efficiency reasons to adopt cloud-based apps and services.

Born to Collaborate in the Financial Sector

Industries like financial services, consulting, and insurance require solutions that ensure the safety of data against hackers. Companies must also retain access to data and provide it to regulators or other legal entities when needed. Symphony, a secure and robust collaboration platform, was born to serve these industries. With over 400,000 users across 400 of the most demanding companies, Symphony is used for internal collaboration as well as collaboration between firms.

AWS Competency Achieved

Today, we’re excited to announce that Symphony has achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Financial Services Competency status. Joining the ranks of Accenture, Cognizant, and IHSMarkit, this designation allows AWS customers in industries including banking, consulting, and insurance to more easily identify and connect with Symphony to provide a secure solution to fit their collaboration and digital transformation needs.

To receive this designation, Symphony has demonstrated that it possesses deep AWS expertise and delivers solutions seamlessly on AWS. Symphony delivers secure and compliant messaging for teams, workgroups, and organizations of all sizes. Its open, secure, and cloud-based communications platform connects markets and individuals, promotes collaboration and workflow productivity, and enables transformational innovation for clients in critical industries.

Driving Digital Transformation While Keeping Data Secure

As Lawrence Miller, our CSO, notes, “Symphony is the first end-to-end encrypted enterprise collaboration platform. Our solution enables customers to have the same type of security they would while keeping their data on premises while having all of the advantages of scalability and access that you would with the cloud. With the cloud —partnering with AWS—we have the flexibility to securely host a robust collaboration application around the world in the different markets where our customers are.”

Our partnership with AWS also enables us to innovate faster on the technology side, and on the business side, it helps us to reach out to many more clients, to grow our business, all while leveraging the scalability, reliability and security that AWS has to offer. With the AWS Financial Services Competency and AWS’ support co-selling Symphony, we will be optimized to reach out to more potential customers in financial services and beyond.
