Two New AWS Quick Starts Available – Microsoft Lync Server 2013 and Trend Micro Deep Security

AWS Quick Start reference deployments are valuable resources for APN Partners who are looking for the ability to rapidly launch a wide range of enterprise workloads on AWS. With AWS Quick Starts, you can automate the deployment of a wide range of these workloads on AWS, while taking advantage of the flexibility, agility, and security of the AWS cloud platform. As an APN Partner, you have the opportunity to use Quick Starts to accelerate solutions for your customers, or as a baseline where you can layer additional functionality on top and modify the deployment for your own implementations.

In addition to the recent launch of the quick launch option, which provides you with the opportunity to do a trial run and deploy enterprise workloads on AWS in 15 minutes, we’ve just released two new AWS Quick Start reference deployments that APN Partners can take advantage of: Microsoft Lync Server 2013, and Trend Micro Deep Security on AWS.

Quick Start Reference Deployment for Lync Server 2013 on the AWS Cloud

Microsoft Lync Server 2013 is a communications software platform that offers instant messaging (IM), presence, conferencing, and telephony solutions for small, medium, and large businesses. This Quick Start reference deployment guide helps you deploy a small or medium-sized Lync Server environment on the AWS cloud. The Quick Start includes an automated AWS CloudFormation template that deploys paired Lync Server 2013 Standard Edition pools across two Availability Zones to provide high availability and disaster recovery. The Quick Start deployment guide also provides sizing guidance and considerations for larger deployments with Lync Server Enterprise Edition.

Quick Start Reference Deployment for Trend Micro Deep Security on the AWS Cloud

Trend Micro Deep Security is a host-based security product that provides intrusion detection and prevention, anti-malware, host firewall, file and system integrity monitoring, and log inspection modules in a single agent running in the guest operating system. The Quick Start deploys Trend Micro Deep Security version 9.5 into an Amazon VPC using AMIs from the AWS Marketplace. The AWS CloudFormation templates automate two deployment options: The first template provides end-to-end deployment into a new Amazon VPC, and the second template deploys Deep Security components into an existing AWS infrastructure. Customization options include license type, instance types, module enablement, and enforcement mode. In addition, the Quick Start includes sample code to show how to use the Amazon EC2 API and the Deep Security API to help ensure that every instance running within the AWS environment is being protected.
