New beta exam: AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty

In July 2022, we are releasing an updated generally available Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty exam (and retiring the current, respective version). Prior to the launch, we are running a beta exam period, offering candidates the opportunity to be one of the first to take the new version of the exam. The beta period is open now and runs through April 11, 2022. You can sign into your AWS Training and Certification account, select Register for an Exam, and schedule AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty beta with either PSI or Pearson VUE.

Why are we updating the exam?

We’re making updates to the AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty exam to ensure it validates knowledge and skills for current AWS services and best practices. The new version has updated content across all domains, as well as new topics aligned with AWS Networking innovations. The updated content supports complex networking scenarios including global and hybrid networks, network security, operational efficiency, and governance.

Who is an ideal candidate for this certification?

AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty validates expertise in designing and maintaining network architecture for the breadth of AWS services. This certification highlights experience in designing, implementing, and automating AWS and hybrid IT network architectures at scale. The target candidate has a level of expertise in advanced networking that significantly exceeds expectations of an AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional. The exam is intended for experienced solutions architects with 5-7+ years of experience with a networking focus and who have design, implementation, and troubleshooting expertise. The target candidates likely have a background in infrastructure engineering at scale (for example, complex SMB, enterprise, ISP, LAN/WAN environments).
