Introducing New AWS IoT Service Delivery Designations
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the next phase of digital transformation, and AWS IoT Service Delivery Partners are driving this evolution. They are improving customer experiences and outcomes by choosing the best approach for the design and implementation of IoT solutions that are optimized for cost, reliability, security, performance, and scalability. At AWS re:Invent 2018, we introduced AWS IoT Service Delivery Partners in three key areas: AWS IoT Core, AWS IoT Greengrass, and AWS IoT Analytics.
Introducing the AWS Device Qualification Program
The new AWS Device Qualification Program makes it easier for APN Partners to qualify their devices on AWS IoT Greengrass, Amazon FreeRTOS, AWS IoT Core, and/or Amazon Kinesis Video Streams so that customers can find and purchase hardware they can trust for their IoT projects. With AWS IoT along with our APN Partners and their qualified hardware, customers will have the intelligence needed to build new services and business models, improve products and services, and strengthen the customer experiences.
Tracing Amazon FreeRTOS on NXP LPC54018
In this post, the first in an APN Blog series about Amazon FreeRTOS development for AWS IoT Core, we go through the setup required for running the Amazon FreeRTOS application, how it works on a high level, and how to connect it to AWS IoT Core. We will also present Percepio Tracealyzer, a tool for debugging the real-time behavior of Amazon FreeRTOS applications, together with a real-world example where Tracealyzer was used to analyze a connectivity issue I encountered when getting started with this project.
Analyzing the Run-Time Behavior of an AWS IoT Device
SEGGER is an APN Standard Technology Partner and provides solutions for secure communication as well as data and product security, meeting the needs of the rapidly evolving Internet of IoT market. In this post, you will see what your IoT devices really do when they connect to and use AWS IoT. With SEGGER’s analysis tools, we show how to track down and solve hard-to-find, timing-related issues and demonstrate how to visualize and analyze what happens in your firmware.
Coarse Location Tracking with Eseye AnyNet Secure SIM and AWS IoT
Coarse location tracking is a subset of location tracking where the approximate location of an asset (within a 20-mile radius) suffices the use-case requirements. Learn how you can use network-based location and AWS IoT to track coarse location of assets using deep integration between AWS IoT, AWS IoT Analytics, and Eseye’s AnyNet Secure SIM, a one-stop, global cellular connectivity solution. Eseye is an APN Advanced Technology Partner with the AWS IoT Competency.
How APN Partner Bright Wolf Helps Pentair with AWS IoT Solutions
With assistance from Bright Wolf, an APN Advanced Technology Partner with the AWS IoT Competency, Pentair adopted a standardized IoT platform and tool set based on AWS. Bright Wolf helps companies develop connected product systems across a broad range of industries, including manufacturing, oil and gas, smart building, and heavy equipment. With its new IoT platform based on AWS, Pentair can quickly and flexibly deliver connected solutions for virtually any scenario across all business units.
Connect Microcontroller-Based Devices to the Cloud with Amazon FreeRTOS and Espressif ESP32
Amazon FreeRTOS code for ESP32 is now available on the Amazon FreeRTOS GitHub repository. Espressif Systems is a multinational, fabless semiconductor company that has been focused on producing connected microcontrollers and System-on-Modules (SoMs) for the emerging mobile and IoT markets. Espressif has worked diligently to connect a number of their popular IoT SoMs to AWS IoT services. In this post, we discuss how to start running Amazon FreeRTOS on ESP32 in order to connect to AWS IoT Core.
Siemens Factory in Mexico Rolls Out MindSphere on AWS IoT Project in Less Than 8 Weeks
Siemens is Europe’s largest industrial manufacturing company and recently leveraged its MindSphere IoT platform to connect production machines at a factory in Monterrey, Mexico, to the AWS cloud in less than eight weeks, which will help it to double efficiency. AWS announced at Hannover Messe 2018 that Siemens PLM, a business unit of the Siemens Digital Factory Division, is a pre-qualified launch partner in the AWS Industrial Software Competency Program, which launches later in 2018.
Connecting IoT Devices and Designing Embedded Applications with Zerynth
A challenge many industrial and manufacturing corporations face when adopting IoT is the complexity of designing and developing for embedded devices. This is even more pronounced for corporations that have little knowledge of firmware development for embedded devices. Zerynth, an APN Select Technology Partner, provides a software development suite that enables Python programming on 32-bit microcontrollers and allows easy connectivity to AWS IoT service.
AWS IoT on Mongoose OS – Part 2
Editor’s note: This is the second of a popular two-part series by Tim Mattison. Read Part 1 >> By Tim Mattison, Partner Solutions Architect at AWS focused on IoT Our previous post, AWS IoT on Mongoose OS – Part 1, described how Mongoose OS can connect an Espressif ESP8266 or ESP32 to AWS IoT. It […]
