New AWS SDK for Java Developers and See it live at EclipseCon

I am very happy to announce the new AWS SDK for Java. Java Developers can use this SDK to build powerful AWS applications. We have also updated our AWS Toolkit for Eclipse and together with the SDK, developers can easily use the powerful Eclipse IDE to build new AWS-powered Java applications.

The SDK includes:

• An AWS Java library – This single jar file provides a set of developer-friendly APIs that hide much of the low-level plumbing associated with programming for the AWS cloud, including authentication, retries, and error handing. The library supports most of our current services and their latest features of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, Auto Scaling, Amazon CloudWatch, Elastic Load Balancing, the Amazon Virtual Private Cloud, Amazon SimpleDB, the Amazon Simple Storage Service, the Amazon Simple Queue Service, the Amazon Relational Database Service, and Amazon Elastic MapReduce and it will also continue to support new features and services as we roll them out.
• Code Samples – The SDK includes practical examples in Java to show you how to build applications that make use of AWS.
• Eclipse Support – Now you can use the AWS Toolkit for Eclipse to add the AWS Java SDK to an existing project, or create a new Java project based on the AWS Java SDK with a few clicks.
• Documentation – The SDK has a Getting Started Guide along with reference documentation for the library and for AWS.

I will be at EclipseCon 2010 this week in Santa Clara, CA and demonstrating the Toolkit and the SDK to show you how you can quickly build powerful AWS applications in Java using Eclipse IDE.
