Your guide to AWS Marketplace sessions at AWS re:Invent 2019

AWS re:Invent 2019 is almost here, and reserved seating is now live!reInvent 2019 AWS Marketplace

You can reserve seating for re:Invent activities such as breakout sessions, workshops, chalk talks, builder sessions, hacks, spotlight labs, and more by logging in to the event catalog using your re:Invent registration credentials. Build out your event schedule by reserving a seat in available sessions.

Keynotes, builders’ fairs, demo theater sessions, and hands-on labs are first-come, first-served and not included in reserved seating.

AWS Marketplace customer sessions help you deploy third-party solutions in your AWS environment, including on Amazon SageMaker, AWS Security Hub, and new features such as Traffic Mirroring. Sessions in the Global Partner Summit track help Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and Consulting Partners optimize your investment in AWS Marketplace to benefit your customers. To interact directly with independent software vendors (ISVs) and consulting Partners that sell in AWS Marketplace, as well as AWS experts, visit the AWS Partner Solutions Experience (southwest corner of Venetian Expo hall). Stop by for hands-on education, demos, and to learn how Partner solutions work with AWS services to solve business challenges.

Customer breakout sessions

Breakouts are one-hour, lecture-style sessions delivered by AWS Marketplace experts and customer speakers who share their journey with AWS Marketplace.

  • MKT201-R Master your security in the cloud In this session, we discuss how you can use AWS Marketplace to help secure your cloud adoption and new workloads using industry-leading third-party solutions. A representative from Sallie Mae, a nation-wide consumer banking company, describes how the company uses Checkpoint CloudGuard Dome9 from AWS Marketplace to enforce and automate security on AWS. Learn best practices for automating your security in the cloud with the shared responsibility model at AWS. This session will be repeated.
  • MKT202-R Balance agility and governance for software procurement & provisioning In this session, learn about Private Marketplace and Procurement System Integration for AWS Marketplace, features that help govern your procurement process. We demo how to create a custom digital catalog of preapproved products and centralize the approval workflow for your third-party software. AstraZeneca, a multinational pharmaceutical company, also describes how it uses Private Marketplace along with Seller Private Offers and AWS Service Catalog to automate software provisioning and reduce cycle time from 1 week to 10 minutes. This session will be repeated.
  • MKT203-R Detect network and security anomalies with Traffic Mirroring Traffic Mirroring is a new Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) feature that allows customers to gain insight into the network traffic across their VPC infrastructure for content inspection and threat monitoring. In this session, we discuss how to integrate third-party solutions in AWS Marketplace to simplify and optimize Traffic Mirroring for your network security and monitoring appliances. This session will be repeated.
  • MKT204 – Automate your security on AWS In this session, we provide DevSecOps best practices to implement security checks earlier into your software development lifecycle (SDLC) using curated software solutions from AWS Marketplace. Additionally, a representative from Cimpress, a world leader in mass customization that is primarily powered by AWS, describes how the company uses third-party software from AWS Marketplace to automate compliance.
  • MKT212 – How to train machine learning models using third-party data products AWS Data Exchange is a new service that makes it easy to securely exchange non-sensitive data in the cloud. In this session, we discuss how to procure a third-party data product and algorithms from AWS Marketplace to train machine learning models. Learn how you can use AWS Data Exchange, AWS Marketplace, and Amazon SageMaker to unlock new insights.

Customer builder sessions

Builder Sessions are one-hour, small group sessions with up to six customers and one AWS expert, who is there to help, answer questions, and provide guidance. While most of these sessions are currently full, you can add yourself to the wait list.

Global Partner Summit sessions

These sessions are open to anyone but geared toward current and potential AWS Partner Network Partners and ISVs in AWS Marketplace.

  • GPSMKT201-R Get a consumer-based experience of software provisioning In this session, we discuss how you can use AWS Marketplace to help secure your cloud adoption and your new workloads using industry-leading third-party solutions. A representative from Frame.io, a popular video review and collaboration platform, describes how the company uses AWS WAF with Fortinet Managed Rules for AWS WAF from AWS Marketplace to secure, enforce, automate security on AWS. Learn best practices for automating your security in the cloud with the shared responsibility model at AWS. This session will be repeated.
  • GPSMKT202 – Use AWS Marketplace to reach over 230,000 customers Learn about new seller-specific AWS Marketplace features that make it easy for sellers to close transactions with over 230,000 active customers. We show you how to publish and update products as part of your feature release process with self-service listings, and review how you can target specific customers with special/customized pricing using Seller Private Offers. Lastly, we discuss how to combine these and other AWS Marketplace features to grow your business by reaching new buyers and converting perpetual-license customers to a subscription model.
  • GPSMKT203 – How to sell in AWS Marketplace In this session, we show you the steps of how to list your product in AWS Marketplace. Learn how leading independent software vendors (ISVs) are reaching new customers and decreasing the time it takes to close transactions using AWS Marketplace.
  • GPSTEC306 – Reinventing your technology product strategy with a SaaS delivery model SaaS is a business and delivery model that allows technology providers to monetize their solutions in a frictionless way for customers. Customers want to be able to subscribe to and consume SaaS solutions with ease, and technology providers want to reduce their customers’ time to value. In this chalk talk, learn some of the patterns that we have seen top industry leaders leverage to reinvent their product strategy to deliver their solutions in a SaaS delivery model on AWS.
  • GPSTEC338 – Building data lakes for your customers with SAP on AWS Many customers are migrating their on-premises SAP applications to AWS, opening up interesting opportunities to build data and analytics transformations using SAP data with AWS data lake solutions. One of the biggest questions customers have is how to extract data from SAP applications. In this demo-driven session, we show the best practices and reference architectures for extracting data from SAP applications at scale. You will take home prescriptive guidance on how to design high-performance data extractors using services like AWS Glue and AWS Lambda with code example for various use cases that you can implement in your customers’ projects.
