Announcing Upcoming APN Competencies

More and more, our customers are asking us to identify APN Partners with proficiency in particular areas to help them solve their specific business challenges. As our customers look to address specific business needs on AWS, we want to make it as easy as we can for them to find the APN Partners who specialize in their areas of need.

The APN Competency Program helps provide guidance for customers by promoting APN Partners who have demonstrated technical proficiency and customer success in specific solution areas. Attaining an APN Competency allows APN Partners like yourself to differentiate your firm, and to showcase the areas of expertise in which you can provide added value to AWS Customers.

We’re very confident in directing AWS Customers to APN Competency Partners, given the extensive skills validation process an APN Partner needs to go through with internal AWS Teams (including AWS Solutions Architects and AWS Product Teams) to earn an APN Competency. APN Competency Partners are entitled to a number of additional benefits, including but not limited to:

• Preferred access to eligible Market Development Funds (MDF)
• Preferred access to AWS Private Betas
• Preferred access to GTM funding
• Selective eligibility to customer opportunities
• Selective eligibility for inclusion in APN Partner spotlights

Once an APN Partner has gained an APN Competency, we work to ensure you are as visible as possible to your key AWS audiences. We promote APN Competency Partners throughout the AWS site, which includes promotion on key AWS Solution pages targeting customer audiences; for example, the Life Sciences on AWS page promotes and links to our Life Sciences Competency Partners. We also work with AWS Marketing to promote APN Competencies through our different customer communication outlets.

We’ve launched a number of APN Competencies, which include:

• Big Data
• Storage
• Life Sciences
• Microsoft
• Oracle
• SAP

These are only the beginning. We plan to add a number of additional APN Competencies, and today, we’re proud to announce the upcoming launches of seven APN Competencies, including Security, Digital Media, Financial Services, Healthcare, Cloud Migration, Mobile, and Internet of Things.
