Wow, a lot is happening in AWS-land these days! Monday October 17	We announced that the US East (Ohio) Region is Now Open. The AWS Database Blog talked about Managing IoT and Time Series Data with Amazon ElastiCache for Redis. The AWS Enterprise Blog encouraged you to Be Deliberate in Your Approach to Cloud Computing. The AWS Security Blog showed you how to Help Achieve Mobile App Transport Security (ATS) Compliance by Using Amazon CloudFront and AWS Certificate Manager. The AWS Startup Collection showed you how to How to Implement Scalable AWS Security Without the Overhead. The AWS Startup Collection shared The Tale of Two Messaging Platforms: Apache Kafka and Amazon Kinesis. AWS Advent is back in 2016 and awaiting your proposals! Serverless Code discussed CloudFormation and Static Sites. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog wrote about Ohio Region Launch Accelerating Sustainability, Economy, and Citizen Services. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog wrote about AWS Signs CJIS Agreement with the State of Washington.
Tuesday October 18	We made an Amazon Aurora Update to Call Lambda Functions from Stored Procedures and Load DAta from S3. We announced that you can now Record and Govern S3 Bucket Configurations with AWS Config. The AWS Enterprise Blog showed you how to Empower Your Cloud Team. We announced new AWS Educate Cloud Learning Pathways for Students. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog explored the Future of Policing and the ability to Detect, Locate, and Alert on Gunfire in Under a Minute. The AWS Startup Collection talked about Accelerating Innovation at Comparethemarket.com with Microservices Powered by MongoDB and AWS. The AWS Big Data Blog discussed Running sparklyr – RStudio’s R Interface to Spark on Amazon EMR. Ben Kehoe wrote about Monkeyless Chaos: Integration Testing for Serverless Architectures. CloudHealth Technologies wrote a blog for G2 Tech Group on how to effectively manage multiple accounts in AWS. If you’ve found yourself asking,”what’s the deal with AWS Lambda?“, then you’ve come to the right place. Batchly showed you How to Make the Best Use of Spot Instance Termination Notices. Botmetric explored AWS for E-Commerce and Online Retailers. CloudCheckr plans to teach you to Hackproof Your Cloud at AWS re:Invent. HashiCorp launched Terraform 0.7.7 with Support for 5 More AWS Resources. N2WS wrote about Cloud-First Applications on AWS and the Need for Cloud Backup. DZone Cloud Zone published Part 1 of a series on Amazon ECS Log Analysis. DZone Cloud Zone discussed a Multi-VPC Architecture. DZone Cloud Zone showed you how to use Java on AWS Using Lambda, API Gateway, and CloudFormation. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog explained how AWS Educate Gives Students Access to Cloud Career Pathways, AWS Badges, and the AWS Educate Job Board. Netflix announced that the Netflix Chaos Monkey has been Upgraded. The A Cloud Guru blog wrote about adopting serverless in the post Adopting Serverless — People and DevOps. Cindy Li from Curalate wrote about building a tracking Pixel in 3 Steps, using AWS Kinesis Firehose, Batchly shared Recommended Cost & Compute Sessions at re:Invent. Trek10 introduced the Lambda Error Hound to Chase Down Serverless Log Messages. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog wrote about AWS Educate Gives Students Access to Cloud Career Pathways, AWS Badges, and the AWS Educate Job Board.
Thursday October 20	I published an AWS Developer Tool Recap of Recent Enhancements to CodeCommit, CodePipeline, and CodeDeploy. We announced that AWS CodePipeline is Now Available in the Asia Pacific (Singapore) Region. We announced that Amazon WorkSpaces is Now Available in the EU (Frankfurt) Region. We announced an Updated Website for Amazon WorkDocs. The AWS Compute Blog showed you how to implement Service Disocvery for Amazon ECS Using DNS. The AWS Compute Blog explored Fleet Management Made Easy with Auto Scaling. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog showed how Carnegie Mellon Gives Students Hands-On Cloud Experience with AWS Educate. The Amazon Mobile App Distribution Blog talked about Using the Login with Amazon WordPress Plugin. Logicworks wrote about Advanced Cloud Security: Interview with a Sr. DevOps Engineer. cloudonaut.io wrote about a New CloudFormation Template – Authentication Proxy using your GitHub Organization and YAML. Kabir Chandhoke his Love Affair with AWS Lambda. CloudCheckr launched Version 4.8 of the CloudCheckr Platform. DZone Cloud Zone shared an Introduction to AWS IAM. Scott Johnson wrote a tutorial on using Inspeqtor to monitor your processes and instances. The AWS Government, Education, & Nonprofits Blog explained how Carnegie Mellon Gives Students Hands-On Cloud Experience with AWS Educate.
Friday October 21	We announced an AWS Budgets Update to Track Cloud Costs and Usage. I offered my Congratulations to the Winners of the Serverless Chatbot Competition. Noah Zoschk from Convox wrote an InfoQ post on the three architectural choices around application packaging, run time service and load balancing services available in AWS.
Saturday October 22	Botmetric explained Why the AWS US East (Ohio) Region is Great News for US East (Virginia) Customers. DZone Cloud Zone shared a CloudFormation Template for Proxy Authentication Using GitHub Organization and YAML. DZone Cloud Zone published Part 2 of a series on Amazon ECS Log Analysis.
Sunday October 23	Kim Schmidt added the first video to Amazon Aurora Deep Dive Section 2.0: Amazon Aurora’s Architecture First Video. Kim Schmidt added the second video to Amazon Aurora Deep Dive Section 2.0: Amazon Aurora’s Architecture, Amazon Aurora’s Clusters and Replicas. 20 Minutos – 20minutos is a free newspaper and website that has rapidly become one of the main sources of information in Spain. The company is using Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Glacier to store the fast growing content generated through the website or social media, and uses Amazon EC2 and Amazon ElastiCache to guarantee the scalability of their systems.
Innovantage -Migrating to AWS has enabled InnoVantage’s developers to spend only five percent of their time on infrastructure and has reduced the company’s time to market from 14 months to seven weeks. InnoVantage provides cloud-based applications to large businesses and government organizations. InnoVantage uses AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS CloudFormation, and AWS Lambda to push its Cogito product to a defined set of AWS infrastructure services, create and manage AWS resources, and run code in response to events.
Vango – Using software from the AWS Marketplace, Vango can now build its digital-media products faster to generate more revenue. Located in San Francisco, Vango is an online marketplace that helps art lovers find and purchase art online. Vango uses Imagizer Media Engine for AWS to efficiently manipulate and manage images, support new interfaces in its applications, build images for its branding and digital assets, and prototype new designs.
Vidyard -Vidyard uses AWS to ensure seamless video upload and playback capabilities, deliver 30 percent faster video upload times, and give its customers confidence in the security of their data. Based in Canada, the organization provides a video-hosting platform that shows customers specifically how and when viewers watch their videos. Vidyard is all in with AWS, running its complete video platform on the AWS Cloud.

aws-lambda-go allows you to run standard Go code on AWS Lambda.
kubernetes-on-aws deploys Kubernetes on AWS with CloudFormation and CoreOS.
aws2openapi converts AWS API descriptions (JSON and XML) to OpenAPI (Swagger 2.0).
AWS-Ansible-scripts contains Ansible scripts for executing various tasks on AWS.
ecsy is a command line tool for provisioning and managing ECS clusters.
s3-all-aws-connector is an Ernest connector to manage S3.
MoonMail serverlessly shoots billions of emails using SES and Lambda.
