LiveOps is becoming increasingly important for game developers as we create online games for players who demand high quality play experiences that are constantly kept fresh and exciting. We feature three demos that dive deep in to important DevOps topics, serverless analytics with Amazon Kinesis, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) with the Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, and fast, local content delivery with Amazon CloudFront.

Deep Dive into Creating a Real-Time Analytics Infrastructure for Games on AWS

Game developers need the most up-to-date information about player engagement. Speed is the key and success relies on staying in the know with real-time analytics, whether it’s identifying which in-game items are most purchased, how advertising and IAP currency sales are performing, or discovering where players are getting stuck in different levels of the game. Learn how to make faster, better decisions in real-time, visualize trends as they happen, and effortlessly share live results with teams. In this tech talk, developers learn how to build a real-time analytics infrastructure on AWS rather than having to sacrifice money and resources trying to build it themselves. Developers see AWS services in action, including Amazon Kinesis, AWS Lambda, Amazon CloudWatch, and how these services help extend the game’s lifecycle from more engaged and happy players. Developers also learn how to integrate AWS services into a game client, such as Unity, in a secure manner to send analytics data to their pipeline.

Game development is all about building an experience that will delight players. But, how do game developers know which decisions are the right ones? Learn how to build a Game Analytics Pipeline to help launch a scalable serverless data pipeline that ingests, stores, processes, and analyzes telemetry data generated from games and services. In this session, developers learn how to deploy the AWS Game Analytics Pipeline, enabling them to gain valuable game insights within minutes from ingesting streaming data and spend time improving game features instead of managing infrastructure. Developers see AWS services in action, including Amazon Kinesis, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), AWS Glue, and Amazon QuickSight.
