Better Engagement, Better Loyalty: Track 1 of Industry Innovator’s Conference 2022

How Hallmark is accelerating a digital transformation
Hallmark Cards Inc. believes that when you care enough, you can change the world. Pursuing an accelerated digital transformation, Hallmark is reimagining the consumer experience with greeting cards. In this session, you’ll hear from chief technology officer Chai Pallapothula as he explains how Hallmark is removing connection-building hurdles and offers a glimpse of what the future has in store.

Chai is an innovation enthusiast, a technologist at heart, and an entrepreneur. He has worked for a range of companies from startups to Fortune 1 companies. Before joining Hallmark, Chai served in key roles with major retailers, including Tailored Brands, Levi Strauss & Co., and Walmart Labs to shape the strategic technical direction to drive the next generation of retail.

Digital transformation of the store and employee experience at Cencosud
Cencosud S. A. is driving digital transformation at store level by building a new, agile technological system of applications that improves efficiency and store operations. Moving away from large RFP processes, the multiformat retailer is cobuilding solutions with the business by developing its own strategic core while incorporating third-party components when suitable. In this session, learn from chief information officer Martin Grosso about how Cencosud improved efficiency to operate in labor-constrained markets while improving the user experience of its employees.

With more than 20 years of experience in companies like Walmart, L Brands, Johnson & Johnson, and Cencosud, Martin is passionate about retail, customer service, and cultural/digital transformation of traditional businesses, focusing closely on people’s ability to challenge the status quo. Martin has led business and tech divisions, from merchandise planning to ecommerce, and—more recently—IT, all at the regional level.

Using first-party data to personalize consumer experiences at Tapestry
Tapestry Inc. is a global house of luxury and lifestyle brands, including Coach New York, Kate Spade New York, and Stuart Weitzman. Tapestry responded to fast-growing, omnichannel consumer expectations by creating a first-party data foundation using Amperity Customer Data Platform—which helps brands manage customer data and identity, unlock access to a complete customer 360, and gain new customer insights and the tools to turn customer intelligence into personalized customer experiences that create brand loyalty and competitive advantage—built on AWS at the center. In this session, learn from Gary Cassidy, customer relationship management director (Europe) at Tapestry, and Ava Ginsberg, director of product marketing at Amperity, about how Tapestry delivered fully integrated, innovative customer experiences and drove deeper engagement among high-value customers.

With a background in leading major digital-product development, marketing, customer service, and operational delivery across luxury fashion brands, telecoms, and banks, Gary combines a creative approach with a strong technical background, a keen analytical edge, and a determined customer focus.

As director of product marketing, Ava is a key member of Amperity’s product marketing team. She develops go-to-market content, collateral, and opportunities and is passionate about data-driven marketing. Prior to Amperity, she worked at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, where she was a strategy consulting manager, focusing primarily on customer strategy work for the retail and telecom industries.
