MeitY Quantum Computing Applications Lab (QCAL) boosts scientific and industry focus for its second cohort
In India, the Quantum Computing Applications Lab (QCAL), a collaboration between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and AWS, announced that it will strengthen its scientific research and industry focus for its second cohort, through new support from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, as well as Indian advanced technology consultancies and AWS Partners Mphasis and Fractal. The MeitY QCAL will accept applications for the second cohort later this month.
Pearson and AWS Educate launch the first cloud computing BTEC Higher National qualifications
To address the cloud computing skills gap, global learning company Pearson is collaborating with AWS Educate to develop the Business and Technology Education Council (BTEC) Higher National qualifications at levels 4 and 5 in cloud computing. The BTEC Higher Nationals are internationally recognized higher education qualifications and are delivered at colleges and universities at more than 60 countries around the world. These are the first BTEC High Nationals available in cloud computing.
Partnership of the year awarded to Virginia schools and AWS Educate for creating Cloud Degree Programs
Education Dive announced George Mason University (GMU), Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA), and AWS Educate earned the Higher Ed “Partnership of the Year” award for collaborating to launch a two and four-year cloud degree pathway. After ten years in retail, Bode Popoola saw his future in technology and decided to make a career change. Originally from Nigeria, Bode attended the Technological University of Ireland (TUI) in Dublin, Ireland, where he studied computer science and information technology.
