AWS Partner Network (APN) Blog

Learn About the New AWS Government Competency

We continuously hear from customers about the different areas in which they’d like help identifying the right AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners to help address their business needs on AWS. The AWS Competency Program is one of our most effective avenues to help customers connect with APN Partners who’ve demonstrated proven success in specialized solution areas on AWS.

Today, we’re launching the AWS Government Competency, as well as the new AWS GovCloud (US) Skill Program, to help government customers identify high-quality, trusted APN Partners that have demonstrated technical proficiency and proven success in managing government workloads.

What is the AWS Government Competency?

The AWS Cloud provides scalable, cost-efficient solutions for governments around the world. Our cloud services can be employed to meet mandates, reduce costs, drive efficiencies, and increase innovation across civilian agencies, national defense and intelligence communities, and state and local governments.

Government Competency Partners provide solutions to—and/or have deep experience working with—government customers to deliver mission-critical workloads and applications on AWS. Customers working with Government Competency Partners will have access to innovative, cloud-based solutions that comply with the highest AWS standards. We’ve identified a number of use cases within the space to help customers identify Government Competency Partners with specific skills, including:

  • Government Transportation, Facilities, and Infrastructure Management
  • Justice and Public Safety
  • Public Healthcare
  • Financial and Fiscal Affairs
  • Citizen Services
  • National Security and Defense
  • Security and Compliance
  • Open Data

What is the AWS GovCloud (US) Skill Program?

As adoption of AWS GovCloud (US) continues to grow, our customers increasingly need the ability to easily identify AWS Partners with expertise and skills in the AWS GovCloud (US) region. The AWS GovCloud (US) Skill Program provides customers with the ability to readily identify APN Partners with experience supporting workloads in the AWS GovCloud (US) Region.
