Six Singapore institutes of higher learning bring AWS courses and resources into diploma programs

AWS announced that six institutes of higher learning in Singapore—including all five national polytechnics and a private education institution—will bring AWS Cloud courses and learning resources into their diploma programs. By collaborating with AWS education programs, these institutions are developing the next generation of cloud professionals. The courses, which include the fundamentals of cloud computing, application development, and cloud security, are available now as part of the institutions’ diploma and short course programs.

Developed jointly by Singapore’s five polytechnics, PolyMall is a one-stop portal to access online learning content across multiple sectors and disciplines. In PolyMall, students are able to access high-quality learning resources at their fingertips for an engaging online learning experience. PolyMall provides a common platform for the five polytechnics to share online learning packages among both students and staff.

AWS Public Sector Summit in Singapore: The Next-Generation of Builders

The second annual AWS Public Sector Summit in Singapore took place on Tuesday, October 2, at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center in Singapore. More than 1,100 attendees showed up from across the public sector. The event kicked off with the keynote presentation and was followed by 17 sessions that were offered across two tracks. And, for the first time, there was also a student track.

Cloud Computing Skills Will Power a Future-Ready Singapore Workforce

The National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) Learning Hub (LHUB) will deliver courses, powered by AWS Educate, to train and reskill 20,000 Singaporeans before the end of 2019 as part of their workforce development program. LHUB will use the content and expertise provided by AWS Educate, a global program that provides a robust set of learning resources and AWS Promotional Credits for trainees and trainers to acquire the latest cloud computing skills. Trainers and learning institutions can incorporate cutting-edge cloud technology, open source content into their teaching curriculum, and provide students with hands-on experience using AWS Promotional Credits.
