Introducing the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program
The AWS Well-Architected Framework helps cloud architects build secure, high-performing, resilient, and efficient infrastructure for their applications. It provides a consistent approach for Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers and AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners to evaluate architectures and implement designs that will scale over time.
At AWS re:Invent 2018, we announced the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program that enables APN Partners to establish good architectural habits, eliminate risk, and assist customers in building and responding faster to changes that affect their designs, applications, and workloads.

Business
APN Partners in the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program must meet program requirements:

- Minimum Reviews Per Region: APN Partners must commit to completing four (4) reviews per quarter in each region where they are conducting Well-Architected reviews.
- Minimum of Well-Architected Leads: In order to deliver and lead AWS Well-Architected reviews and workload improvements for customers, a minimum of two (2) leads must be AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and have completed the AWS Well-Architected Partner Bootcamp training. Leads are required to deliver a minimum of two (2) reviews per quarter per region.
Training
Additionally, all APN Partners that are interested in the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program must complete a series of training before conducting AWS Well-Architected reviews.
- AWS Well-Architected Overview: This webinar educates APN Partners about the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program. If you’re interested in participating in the program after this overview, the next step is to schedule an executive sponsor call with your Partner Development Manager (PDM).
- Executive Sponsorship Call: This call is to discuss the initiative, goals, and objectives of the executive sponsor, and to answer any questions related to the program at the business level.
- Sales and Operations Onboarding: This training is for APN Partners that have executive buy-in and are interested in integrating the AWS Well-Architected Framework into their business.
- Technical Bootcamp: Individuals at the AWS Certified Solutions Architects – Professional level will be trained on how to conduct AWS Well-Architected reviews for a customer. This all-day workshop dives into how to engage with customers, how to leverage AWS Well-Architected best practices, and how to evaluate customers’ workloads.
Conducting AWS Well-Architected Reviews
After the technical bootcamp training, APN Partners will be provided AWS Well-Architected Partner Program materials, giving you everything you need to fully integrate AWS Well-Architected practices into your business.
APN Partners will then be ready to conduct these reviews for AWS customers, and start performing workload improvements for customers based on findings from the AWS Well-Architected reviews.
Once APN Partners have conducted and reported on a minimum of four (4) reviews per quarter, you will officially be in and will remain in the AWS Well-Architected Partner Program. APN Partners in good standing will benefit from Marketing Development Funding (MDF), and go-to-market (GTM) support from AWS.
