Data is a critical aspect of modern businesses and organizations. The ability to quickly and efficiently process large amounts of data and turn it into actionable insights is a key competitive advantage for organizations of all sizes and verticals. This is where Sisense and Amazon Redshift Serverless come into play.

Sisense Fusion Embed and Amazon Redshift Serverless provide customers with an integrated and seamless artificial intelligence-powered data analytics experiences combined with predictive intelligence, natural language querying, and more. Together, these solutions enable data-driven decisions and deliver business insights at the point of decision making.

While every product leader is under pressure to expand the value of their offerings by incorporating analytics and data experiences, the risk and upfront cost of building data infrastructure for scale before finding the right fit can be a powerful deterrent.

Further, experimenting with in-product data experiences can be expensive since most products were not designed with the robust online analytical processing (OLAP) infrastructure needed to support analytics, or a way to rapidly iterate on data visualization.

The on-demand nature of Amazon Redshift Serverless means going from experimentation to production workloads is instantaneous, and Sisense Fusion Embed delivered via Sisense Cloud requires no deployment effort and supports robust experimentation without committing to massive upfront server resources.

In this post, we will explore the benefits and synergy of these two powerful data solutions and how they can help organizations turn data into actionable insights. Sisense is an AWS Data and Analytics Competency Partner and AWS Marketplace Seller that’s a complete embedded analytics and business intelligence platform enabling organizations to prepare, analyze, visualize, and gain insights from large amounts of complex data.

Amazon Redshift Serverless is a cloud-based data warehousing service that provides fast and scalable data processing capabilities, making it ideal for organizations that need to handle large amounts of data in real-time.

An Integrated, Powerful Analytics Platform

Amazon Redshift Serverless allows you to run and scale analytics without having to provision and manage data warehouse clusters. With Redshift Serverless, all users—including data analysts, developers, and data scientists—can now use Amazon Redshift to get insights from data in seconds.

It automatically provisions and intelligently scales data warehouse capacity to deliver high performance for all your analytics. You only pay for the compute used for the duration of the workloads on a per-second basis, and you benefit from this simplicity without making any changes to existing analytics and business intelligence applications.

With Redshift Serverless, you pay only for the compute capacity your database consumes when active. This scales up or down automatically based on your workload and shuts down during periods of inactivity to save time and costs. Your data is stored in managed storage, and you pay a GB-per-month rate.

Combining Sisense Fusion Embed cloud infrastructure with Amazon Redshift Serverless results in a highly available and robust architecture ready to scale, from prototype to production, without costly redeployment or redevelopment.

The combination of Sisense Fusion Embed and Redshift Serverless is ideal for the challenges faced by product leaders and engineering teams when planning for growth, while still iterating on product fit and the best way to deliver valuable data experiences.

Scalable Platforms Delivering Joint Synergy

Resource investment and opportunity cost are the other limiting factors to innovation on data experiences in product development.

To address this, Sisense built a comprehensive feature set and functionality to take advantage of Amazon Redshift infrastructure even without an expert data engineering team. Sisense Fusion Embed makes it easy for product managers and engineers to set up experimental data pipelines and models that can be quickly replaced with production approaches, without requiring significant rework or disrupting product experiences.

For example, the Sisense Fusion Embed connection to Redshift Serverless is specifically optimized to minimize run time and query execution and maximize performance to deliver on the near-instant responsiveness expected by end users.

Since developing confidence in the accuracy of data is critical for end users, Sisense takes advantage of the responsiveness of Redshift Serverless as an origin data warehouse to power interactive queries and dashboards that are always up to date with no replication lag.

This is especially important when delivering in-product experiences that use data for decision support and workflow optimization—use cases that cannot accept the extract, transform, load (ETL) delays that are routine in traditional OLAP environments.

Robust and Customizable Architecture

With the Sisense Fusion platform, users can go beyond standard business intelligence (BI) and infuse analytics into workflows, apps, and products to drive better and faster decisions for the business and customers.

Sisense Fusion’s modern API-driven and cloud-native architecture provides flexible deployment options and a highly extensible framework for scalable, customizable, and personalized analytics for internal and external uses.

You can use a low-code or code-first approach to build unique and transformative data experiences that deliver intelligence everywhere you and your customers need them via seamless self-service and deeply embedded analytics.

Amazon Redshift Serverless makes it easy to run and scale analytics without having to manage data warehouse infrastructure. Developers, data scientists, and analysts can work across databases, data warehouses, and data lakes to build reporting and dashboarding applications, perform real-time analytics, share and collaborate on data, and build and train machine learning (ML) models.

Redshift Serverless automatically scales data warehouse capacity up or down to deliver consistently fast performance for even the most demanding and unpredictable workloads.
