Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training and Certification is now offering a new foundational training course on AWS GovCloud (US) as part of their no-cost training webinar series. Introduction to Governance and Compliance in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions is a training workshop for those looking for a solution to host sensitive data and regulated workloads, or IT professionals just looking to learn more about AWS GovCloud (US).

AWS GovCloud (US) gives customers and their partners the flexibility to architect secure cloud solutions that comply with some of the strictest US compliance regimes. From Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI), Personally Identifiable Information (PII), sensitive patient medical records, and financial data to law enforcement data, export controlled data, and other forms of CUI, AWS GovCloud (US) can help customers address the most stringent security and compliance requirements at every stage of their cloud journey.

AWS GovCloud (US) is comprised of two logically and physically isolated regions: AWS GovCloud (US-West) and AWS GovCloud (US-East). AWS GovCloud (US) Regions provide three Availability Zones and are operated on US soil by US citizens. Check out how AWS customers are using AWS GovCloud (US).

This new live training webinar dives into the basics of how AWS and AWS GovCloud (US) Regions address these stringent security, compliance, and governance requirements. Over the course of four modules and two in-console demonstrations, the AWS instructor walks you through AWS Cloud basics, the Compliant Framework for Federal and DoD Workloads in AWS GovCloud (US), and compliance automation, with the opportunity to ask questions throughout.

By the end of this course, attendees will understand:

  • How AWS can automate compliance
  • How AWS protects the physical and environmental layers of the cloud
  • Access control and management features of AWS
  • How data is protected at rest in AWS
  • AWS services used in monitoring and auditing workloads
  • The benefits of using AWS and AWS GovCloud (US)

The first course offering is on April 23, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET, and will continue to be offered quarterly thereafter. Register here. Check the AWS Training and Certification Events page regularly to learn when new sessions are made available.

Last year, Amazon announced that we are committed to helping 29 million individuals around the world grow their tech skills with free cloud computing skills training by 2025. The new Introduction to Governance and Compliance in AWS GovCloud (US) Regions training presents one more step in this direction.
