AWS MSP Partner Program Validation Checklist Update – Version 5

The goal of the AWS Managed Service Provider (MSP) Partner Program is to recognize partners that provide the best AWS Cloud managed service experience for their customers. To this effect, we periodically publish updates to the AWS MSP Partner Program Validation Checklist which defines the criteria and requirements for the AWS MSP Partner Program. We’re pleased to share the latest updates in version 5.0 of the validation checklist.

Announcing 2022 AWS Partner Funding Program Changes and New Funding Tool

AWS Partners are building successful migration and modernization practices to help customers with their workloads, and partners are leveraging AWS Partner Funding programs to sell more projects and grow their AWS businesses. Based on past successes and feedback from AWS Partners, customers, and the AWS field, we have consolidated several migration funding programs into the Migration Acceleration Program (MAP). These changes will help fund small and large migrations to AWS across different workloads.

Announcing the New AWS Partner Creative and Messaging Guide

We are excited to introduce the new AWS Partner Creative and Messaging Guide, a definitive resource detailing new branding treatments including partner badges, logos, and messaging dos and don’ts which partners can refer to when creating marketing communications, campaign collateral, and event assets. We recommend AWS Partners begin using the new guide, as it replaces the APN Messaging and Branding Guide and the AWS Co-Branding Guide.

AWS Partner Paths are a flexible way to engage with AWS, providing a curated journey through partner resources, benefits, and programs while simplifying the engagement model for partners, expanding access to benefits, and providing a more intuitive and streamlined experience. AWS Partner Paths replace technology and consulting partner type models—evolving to an offering type model. Partners can enroll in one or multiple Paths based on their unique customer offerings.

New Foundational Technical Review Process for Partner Hosted Solutions

The AWS Foundational Technical Review (FTR) helps identify and mitigate technical risks in solutions built by AWS ISV Partners. The FTR focuses on a subset of AWS Well-Architected best practices and defines objective criteria for each requirement. In October 2021, we updated the FTR process for Partner Hosted solutions to make it faster, easier, and more accurate than before. Optimize Your Partner Account Management with New AWS Partner Central Permissions

We are excited to introduce two new permissions features for AWS Partner Central: the Alliance Team and ACE Manager roles. These roles provide AWS Partners the ability to grant multiple team members access to the data and features they need to help manage their APN account. With these permissions features, multiple users from an AWS Partner organization can access the data and features they need in Partner Central without relying on the Alliance Lead.

ACE Updates: Opportunity Management Enhancements for ACE Pipeline Manager

The APN Customer Engagements (ACE) opportunity validation experience is being updated for AWS Partners to streamline the overall validation process in several key ways. This includes proactively calling out the most common errors that delay approvals, and allowing you to edit submissions requiring additional information directly in the ACE Pipeline Manager. We are also updating the “Date of last provided update exceeds 2 weeks” opportunity and lead list views to only show items in which you are able to take action.

AWS commissioned 451 Research, part of S&P Global Market Intelligence, to conduct a study of global AWS Systems Integrator (SI) Partners focused on profitability. As a result, the new AWS Partner Profitability and Success Report was launched at re:Invent. This report explores some of the biggest challenges AWS Partners face in pursing profitability, including transitioning from other business models, changing customer perceptions, and finding ways to differentiate.
