Earlier this year, Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union (EU), hosted the fourth edition of the European Big Data Hackathon on AWS. During this year’s event, participants were tasked with developing data analytics tools to build an early warning system using data from credit card transactions to alert of sudden changes in the economy relevant for EU policymakers. INFINITT Healthcare, a healthcare technology (HealthTech) company based in South Korea, is working to streamline digital pathology by extracting and transforming whole-slide imaging (WSI) output as a Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) file—a digital version of WSI that is helping pathologists save time and resources, streamline multidisciplinary communication, and accelerate time to solutions in patient care. This is then stored in their cloud-based digital pathology system (DPS) built on AWS.
