Setting the record straight on JEDI

Since we filed our protest, we’ve been clear in our intent: we don’t think the JEDI award was adjudicated fairly, we think political interference blatantly impacted the award decision, and we’re committed to ensuring the evaluation receives a fair, objective, and impartial review. Recently, Microsoft has published multiple self-righteous and pontificating blog posts that amount to nothing more than misleading noise intended to distract those following the protest. To save you some space (and time), here are the facts.

FedRAMP workbook automation

Automating creation of a FedRAMP Integrated Inventory Workbook

Did you know AWS can help deliver an automated solution for creating the FedRAMP Integrated Inventory Workbook? This workbook needs to be updated and submitted to the FedRAMP Project Management Office (PMO) monthly for continuous monitoring. Automating this workbook saves manual work hours. Readying the warfighter: U.S. Navy ERP migrates to AWS

The U.S. Navy and SAP National Security Services (SAP NS2) migrated their largest SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system – 72,000 users spread across six U.S. Navy commands – to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud. The milestone — which came 10 months ahead of schedule — will put the movement and documentation of some $70 billion worth of parts and goods into one accessible space, so the information can be shared, analyzed, and protected more uniformly.

Defense Logistics Agency migrates five applications to AWS GovCloud (US) ahead of schedule

The U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) successfully migrated five applications to AWS GovCloud (US) under the Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) hosting support contract with help from Credence Management Solutions, LLC., an AWS Partner Network (APN) consulting partner in the AWS Public Sector Partner Program. Working with AWS Professional Services, Credence migrated all five applications in just 138 days – almost six weeks ahead of schedule – using CloudEndure Migration.

AWS Snowball Edge helps warfighters complete missions at the tactical edge, and is built to handle the toughest of environments

The AWS Snowball Edge looks unassuming. Weighing in at under 50 pounds, it can be checked as a standard piece of airplane luggage, and yet, it is an extremely durable, portable piece of hardware. The AWS Snowball Edge is capable of petabyte-scale data transport with on-board storage and dense compute capabilities. It was engineered to perform in some of the world’s most extreme environments, including warzones at the tactical edge, in a secure and transportable fashion.

Congratulations to the 2019 Federal 100 Award Winners

Tonight’s Fed 100 gala marks the thirtieth anniversary of the Federal 100 awards. These awards recognize the important work that federal government and industry leaders are doing with the help of technology.

Congratulations to the 100 women and men recognized and a special shout out to these two cloud leaders who are playing a critical role in modernizing government: Kevin Smith, CIO, U.S. Census Bureau, and Richard “Rick” Jack, Distinguished C4ISR Software Engineer (SSTM), SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific, U.S. Department of the Navy.

BDP now supports securing, monitoring, and reporting on AWS GovCloud (US)

Enlighten IT Consulting, an AWS Managed Service Partner, is the prime integrator for the Department of Defense (DoD) Big Data Platform (BDP). BDP is a fully accredited government-owned platform used for storing, querying, and analyzing cyber data that runs at petabyte scale in AWS GovCloud (US). The BDP has been adopted by multiple defense and federal civilian agencies as the primary security information event management solution (SIEM) due to its ability to support petabyte-scale data ingest, processing, storage, and visualization without the burden of licensing cost or lock-in.

Air Force Saves Costs and Increases Reliability by Moving Portal to the Cloud

The U.S. Air Force migrated the Air Force Portal, which posts officer promotional lists and other information, to the cloud. With a pay-as-you-go model, the Air Force only has to pay if the portal is being used, instead of a flat fee upfront. This model leads to savings when traffic is down. Migrating applications to a commercial cloud eliminates the need for the government to manage and sustain enough servers in times of maximum traffic such as staff sergeant promotion release days.

Defense Logistics Agency Upgrades LMS to the Cloud for Agility and Reliability

As the U.S. Department of Defense migrates more mission-critical workloads to the cloud, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) recently upgraded its training-delivery application, moving it from its on-premises data center into a commercial cloud environment. With this upgrade, DLA employees have improved capability, and the agency is blazing a trail within the DoD for the use of commercial cloud to empower the workforce.
