AWS Partner Network (APN) Blog
Introducing the AWS Direct Connect Service Delivery Program
AWS Direct Connect gives you the ability to create private network connections between your data center, office, or co-location environment and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to reduce network costs, increase throughput, and deliver a consistent experience.
The connections start at your network and end at one of 93 AWS Direct Connect locations in 67 cities in 28 countries. You have the option of working with AWS Direct Connect Partners to help get you connected to AWS.
In addition to enabling customers to access 1 or 10 Gbps Dedicated Connections, many AWS Direct Connect Partners also provide connectivity on demand via 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 or 500 Mbps Hosted Connections. To enable customers to obtain greater capacity on demand, we recently announced new Hosted Connection capacities of 1, 2, 5 and 10 Gbps.
AWS Direct Connect Service Delivery Partners are exclusively authorized to provision the new AWS Direct Connect Hosted Connections capacities greater than 500 Mbps.
AWS Direct Connect Service Delivery Partners undergo service-specific validation of their technical capabilities and are approved to provide higher capacity Hosted Connections. They must also enable monitoring of the network link between the partner and AWS.
To learn more about the locations and specific AWS Direct Connect services an APN Partner is approved for, see the AWS Direct Connect Partners page.
Team Up with an AWS Direct Connect Service Delivery Partner
The AWS Service Delivery Program builds customer trust by helping organizations identify top AWS Partner Network (APN) Partners with relevant service knowledge and experience.
The AWS Service Delivery Program makes it easy for customers to find APN Partners with a deep understanding of specific AWS services, such as AWS Direct Connect. These APN Partners follow best practices for implementing AWS services and have proven success delivering AWS services to end customers.
To receive an AWS Service Delivery designation, APN Partners must undergo service-specific technical validation by AWS Partner Solutions Architects, and complete a customer case business review. This validation gives customers confidence in choosing service-experienced APN Partners to team up with.
