Amazon Connect achieves FedRAMP High authorization

AWS announced that Amazon Connect, its omnichannel cloud contact center service, has achieved FedRAMP Authorized status at the High Impact Level. FedRAMP is a US government-wide program that promotes the adoption of secure cloud services across the federal government by providing a standardized approach to security and risk assessment, and continuous monitoring for cloud technologies and federal agencies. Announcing the winners of the 2022 Amazon Sustainability Data Initiative (ASDI) Global Hackathon

Earlier this year, AWS launched the 2022 Amazon Sustainability Data Initiative (ASDI) Global Hackathon, part of a new collaboration with the International Research Centre in Artificial Intelligence, under the auspices of UNESCO. Participants were asked to use their creativity, intelligence, and technical skills to build sustainability solutions using data from ASDI on Amazon SageMaker Studio Lab, or any AWS Cloud services, to build solutions that support one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the United Nations (UN). Data Lake for Nonprofits – powered by AWS and Salesforce.org now available to help unleash data insights

Nonprofits are using the cloud for fundraising, donor and member management, and communications. With this move online, they have access to more data than ever. However, sharing, connecting, and interpreting data from many different sources can be a challenge. To address this challenge, today AWS and AWS Partner Salesforce.org are announcing the general availability of Data Lake for Nonprofits – Powered by AWS.

22 new or updated open datasets on AWS: New polar satellite data, blockchain data, and more

The AWS Open Data Sponsorship Program makes high-value, cloud-optimized datasets publicly available on AWS. The full list of publicly available datasets are on the Registry of Open Data on AWS and are now also discoverable on AWS Data Exchange. Smart Island: How the AWS Cloud is powering social, economic, and environmental improvements in Greece

AWS is leading a pilot project to turn the Greek island of Naxos in the Aegean Sea into a smart island. Designed in collaboration with 20 Greek and international companies, the Smart Island project was developed with the support of the Greek government, local authorities, and the US Embassy. The project will leverage advanced AWS Cloud technologies, and will introduce smart solutions for mobility, primary healthcare, and the transport of goods, such as vessel monitoring and reporting from a coastline tower, and the delivery of blood samples and medical supplies via drone.

Developing the US cybersecurity workforce with CISA

At Amazon, we believe cybersecurity skills training and workforce development are essential to addressing cybersecurity challenges. Leading into Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Amazon hosted Jen Easterly, director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), for a roundtable with leaders across higher education, state and local government, and private industry to discuss ways to develop the cybersecurity workforce through skills training, partnerships between government and industry, and creating pathways to cybersecurity careers. AWS announces low-to-no cost security services for federal political campaigns and committees

It is essential for election campaigns and committees to have access to the latest security services so they can mitigate risks against security threats at minimal cost. To support this, AWS is collaborating with Defending Digital Campaigns (DDC) to offer more than 20 cybersecurity-related AWS services for low-to-no cost to all active and registered national party committees and federal candidate committees for the US House and US Senate midterm elections that are eligible in accordance with DDC and Federal Election Commission (FEC) criteria.
