AWS successfully runs AWS compute and machine learning services on an orbiting satellite in a first-of-its kind space experiment

At re:Invent 2022, AWS announced that it successfully ran a suite of AWS compute and machine learning (ML) software on an orbiting satellite, in a first-of-its-kind space experiment. The experiment, conducted over the past 10 months in low Earth orbit (LEO), was designed to test a faster, more efficient method for customers to collect and analyze valuable space data directly on their orbiting satellites using the cloud.

Data Lake for Nonprofits – powered by AWS and Salesforce.org now available to help unleash data insights

MeitY Quantum Computing Applications Lab (QCAL) boosts scientific and industry focus for its second cohort

In India, the Quantum Computing Applications Lab (QCAL), a collaboration between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and AWS, announced that it will strengthen its scientific research and industry focus for its second cohort, through new support from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, as well as Indian advanced technology consultancies and AWS Partners Mphasis and Fractal. The MeitY QCAL will accept applications for the second cohort later this month.

The Institute of Human Virology Nigeria reduced costs by 64% by migrating hundreds of mailboxes to Amazon WorkMail

The Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) uses email as their main communication method, with over 800 email accounts using up to 50GB of storage space each. IHVN used AWS to migrate their email to Amazon WorkMail to reduce the cost of each mailbox by 64 percent, allowing their IT team to easily manage the corporate email infrastructure and get enterprise grade security.

Get help building your public sector business with APN Navigate

Now available for organizations and Amazon Web Services (AWS) Partners interested in expanding into the public sector: the APN Navigate Program. The APN Navigate Program expanded to offer dedicated tracks to help new and existing AWS Partners build a successful public sector practice. Called Public Sector Foundations, these tracks are open to all registered AWS Partners with the goal of helping them do business in the public sector and define their specialty to accelerate their route to market with AWS.
