How to use AWS Wickr to enable healthcare workers to interact with generative AI

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Wickr is an end-to-end encrypted messaging and collaboration service with features designed to keep internal and external communications secure, private, and compliant. In this post, we present an architecture that uses the Wickr messaging solution for protected communication with a generative AI backend system, which uses an existing open source project: the AWS GenAI Chatbot. Building a secure and low-code bioinformatics workbench on AWS HealthOmics

Singapore General Hospital (SGH), SingHealth Office of Academic Informatics (OAI), and Amazon Web Services (AWS) collaborated to develop a cost-effective, scalable cloud infrastructure that enables researchers to perform their own analyses on a centrally secured and compliant cloud platform. AWS HealthOmics offers a suite of services that help bioinformaticians, researchers, and scientists to store, query, analyze, and generate insights from genomic and other biological data. Read this post to learn more about the three primary components of HealthOmics used in the solution.

Mitigating inadvertent IPv6 prefix advertisement with AWS automation

As federal agencies migrate to the Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) 3.0 framework, they will use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to exit to the internet, bypassing the TIC network. This transition requires agencies to plan and coordinate migration activities to verify seamless IPv6 connectivity. Agencies need to coordinate advertising their IPv6 prefixes with AWS, using mechanisms like Bring your own IP addresses (BYOIP). The migration process could involve changes in routing policies, firewall rules, and security controls to accommodate the IPv6 prefix changes. Read this post to learn more.

Generative AI as a force for good in facilitating cyber-resiliency in public sector organizations

The Digital Transformation Hub (DxHub) at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo – powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) and part of the AWS Cloud Innovation Centers (CIC) program – collaborated with the City of San Diego and the San Diego Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE) to create ‘My eCISO,’ a generative artificial intelligence (AI)-based application that propels public and private organizations on a path to cyber resiliency. This post explores the technology behind My eCISO and its implications for organizations looking to protect against attacks.

Japan’s Digital Agency accelerates government cloud migration with AWS generative AI–powered architecture reviews

In September 2021, Japan took a leap with the establishment of its Digital Agency and the creation of the government cloud. With the goal to build a society in which no one is left behind by improving convenience, health, and happiness through digital technology, Japan’s Digital Agency represents the nation’s bold commitment to digital innovation across government and society. In June 2024, two cloud engineers from the Digital Agency, Kazuma Takeda and Shinichi Nishihata, shared their process and learnings at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Summit Japan, the largest AWS learning event in the country. For those who were unable to attend or watch virtually, this post summarizes their presentation.

Building compliant healthcare solutions using Landing Zone Accelerator

In this post, we explore the complexities of data privacy and controls on Amazon Web Services (AWS), examine how creating a landing zone within which to contain such data is important, and highlight the differences between creating a landing zone from scratch compared with using the AWS Landing Zone Accelerator (LZA) for Healthcare. To aid explanation, we use a simple healthcare workload as an example. We also explain how LZA for Healthcare codifies HIPAA controls and AWS Security Best Practices to accelerate the creation of an environment to run protective health information workloads in AWS.

Use Landing Zone Accelerator on AWS customizations to deploy Cloud Intelligence Dashboards

In this post, you will learn how to deploy Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Intelligence Dashboards (CID) using the Landing Zone Accelerator on AWS (LZA) solution. In doing so, you will learn how to customize your LZA deployment using the customizations-config.yaml file. By utilizing the LZA and CID together, you can streamline the deployment process, ensure compliance with best practices, and gain valuable insights into your cloud environment, ultimately leading to improved operational efficiency, enhanced security, and better-informed decision-making.

Germany’s International University of Applied Sciences automates creation of educational videos using generative AI, serverless on AWS

The International University of Applied Sciences (IU) maintains 90 percent of its course content online. Through its online programs, IU aims to give people worldwide access to highly individualized education, enabling them to further enrich their lives. The large majority of IU’s infrastructure runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Read this post to learn why IU worked directly with AWS experts through the Experience-Based Acceleration (EBA) program to expand their automated video generation pipelines to be more scalable, modular, and robust.
