Munich University of Applied Sciences launches Digital Transformation Lab, powered by AWS

Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) opened the Digital Transformation Lab (DTLab) at a July 18, 2019 launch event. The MUAS DTLab was created to accelerate public sector innovation in Germany, helping government, education, and nonprofits tackle some of the most pressing challenges in delivering a wide range of citizen services.

Busan Metropolitan City signs new agreement with AWS to develop smart city initiatives and foster public sector innovation

The Busan Metropolitan City and Amazon Web Services (AWS) signed a new agreement to address real-world public sector technology challenges at the Busan Cloud Innovation Center (CIC). Built off of a collaboration initiated in March 2016, this new agreement will span the next five years with a focus on smart city initiatives. These initiatives will tackle challenges such as traffic, public security, health and well-being, logistics, and the environment within Busan, South Korea.

Preparing youth in the UAE for the future of work

The World Bank, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), and the Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education (AGFE), hosted the Skills for The Future Initiative (SFI) at Zayed University in Dubai on June 19th and 20th. The University of Nottingham has a history dating back to 1881, and while the university is now global with campuses in China and Malaysia, its flagship campus remains in the UK. Today, the university’s research efforts span nearly every discipline. One current project is Crossbow, a new, open source software project conceived and developed by Dr. Christian Suess, a research fellow at The University of Nottingham in conjunction with principal investigator Prof. Charlie Laughton, professor of computational pharmaceutical science. Crossbow is based out of the school of pharmacy at the University of Nottingham, where there is a particular interest in researching the design of new medicines using computer simulations of drugs and proteins.
